The views from my oceanfront room were absolutely stunning, showcasing Coconut Island and the blue waters of Hilo Bay. The staff were exceptionally friendly, assisting with local recommendations and ensuring my stay was as comfortable as possible.
More variety in the breakfast options would be nice.

The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful during our stay. the dining options at the hotel were rather limited, which was a bit disappointing, especially for families staying several nights.

We had a lovely time enjoying the ocean view and the comfy king-sized bed in our room. The breakfast spread was a tasty treat. The outdoor pool and sun terrace were perfect for lounging after our adventures around the area. Just a heads up, we found the parking fees a bit steep, but it didn’t take away from our great experience overall! 🌴

It was a decent choice for a city break in Hilo with a good price value. The air-conditioning was a real relief from the humidity. Make sure to check out the additional parking lot if the upper one is full.

Not the best for families
Staff were friendly and the location was great for day trips. We enjoyed the views of the bay during our stay, which was comforting after long days exploring.
It was a bit pricey for what we got but acceptable enough.

Had a great time with friends! The oceanfront views were stunning, and we visited the beautiful Japanese gardens nearby and went to the local farmers' market. Just a heads up to future guests, the pool closes at 7 pm, which caught us off guard. Overall, we made amazing memories and would definitely recommend it!
One downside was the check-out process. the front desk staff seemed a bit rushed and not very accommodating, which left a sour note at the end of our stay.

Oceanfront views from the 6th floor offered tranquil scenes of the bay. Convenient access to nearby Liliuokalani Gardens provided a great spot for a peaceful stroll.
Rooms showed signs of neglect, with peeling wallpaper and dirty carpets. My fridge barely worked and had a musty smell. Housekeeping was inconsistent. one night our room was left unserviced, and there were no extra towels offered when needed. Even the air conditioning struggled. it was less reliable than I would have liked on hot days.

I spent two nights at the Castle Hilo Hawaiian Hotel and enjoyed the beautiful oceanfront views from my room. The spacious layout made it comfortable, especially with amenities like a mini-fridge. The staff were efficient in assisting with my needs, ensuring that everything ran smoothly during my stay. However, I did notice that the hotel is a bit outdated, which was quite apparent in the amenities and building decor. Some common areas looked tired and could use an update. The breakfast options also felt limited, mainly consisting of sugary pastries served in disposable boxes. The check-out process could improve. the front desk staff seemed rushed, leading to a bit of confusion. A clearer system would make it smoother for guests. Overall, the location is fantastic, right next to the gardens, making for lovely strolls. It's a peaceful place, but a few improvements would elevate the experience further.
